Getting paid
Paid every two weeks, into your own account
Rincón never holds your earnings. Your share is routed to your own Stripe account at the moment a student pays, and Stripe pays it out to your bank on a fortnightly cycle.

A student buys credits
They pay by card in dollars, euros or pounds through Stripe Checkout. Your 90% is routed straight to your connected account and the commission to the platform, in the same transaction.

You teach the lesson
A lesson counts towards a payout once it has been taught, not once it has been booked. A cancellation inside the student's free window returns their credit and drops out of the cycle.

Stripe pays your bank, fortnightly
Payouts run every two weeks, on the same weekday each time, in your own currency and with your own receipts and tax records. You can see the next payout date in your earnings console.
Connecting takes about five minutes and needs your bank details and an ID document. Stripe handles the checks, not us. Stripe's processing fee, roughly 2.9% plus a fixed amount, comes off before either of us is paid.
Getting on
You apply, and a person answers
Rincón is small on purpose. You cannot sign up and start selling lessons the same afternoon. Every profile a student sees has been read, watched and approved first, and that is what makes the directory worth being in.

Tell us what you teach, how you teach it and where you learned. A short video of you talking helps more than a CV does.

We read it
A teacher reads your application, not an automated filter. Expect an answer within a week either way, and a no comes with a reason.

Set yourself up
Once you are approved you build your profile, set your own rates, connect Stripe and paint your calendar. None of it is visible to a student until you are ready.

Go live
Your profile joins the directory. From that point the students who book you are yours, and they stay yours.
Applying costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Approval is not a promise of students, it is permission to be found.

The boring half, already done
Everything a private teacher normally cobbles together out of a spreadsheet, a calendar and four apps.
Scheduling that respects your life
Paint the hours you teach. Set a buffer, a notice period and a cancellation window. Students only ever see what is genuinely free.
Payments and credits
Packages, multi currency pricing, promo codes and an append only credit ledger. Nobody books a lesson they have not paid for.
A portal for every student
Their lessons, their materials, their homework and a written report after every class, in the language they read in.
Materials and homework
Write documents, upload PDFs and audio, build flashcard decks, assign them, then mark what comes back with inline corrections.
A meeting link per lesson
Connect Google Calendar and every booking gets its own Meet link. Not connected is fine too, your own room works.
Reminders that go out without you
Confirmations, a nudge a day before and another an hour before, in English or Spanish, automatically.
Who this suits
This is a small platform on purpose
A good fit if
- You teach one to one and care how the lesson is planned.
- You already have some students and want somewhere better to run them.
- You want your rate to be your rate.
- You are happy being read and watched before you are listed.
Probably not if
- You want a firehose of new students on day one. This is small.
- You teach groups. Rincón is one to one only.
- You want to be paid in cash off platform. Payments run through Stripe.
Before you ask
The questions everyone asks
Can I set my own prices?
Yes. You write the price for each package in each currency. Nothing is converted for you, so every number on your profile is one you chose.
Is 10% really flat?
Yes, and it is the default in the database rather than a promise in a blog post. The owner can set a lower rate for a teacher, never a hidden higher one, and you always see your rate in your own console.
What happens to my students if I leave?
They are your students. Credits are scoped to you, so nothing moves to another teacher without the student choosing it. Take your contact list with you.
Do I have to teach here exclusively?
No. Teach wherever you like. Rincón asks nothing about what you do elsewhere.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
No minimum and no penalty for a quiet month. Your rate does not move with your volume.
How are teachers approved?
A person reads your profile and watches your intro video. Usually two days. You will get an email either way.
