What Rincón is
Rincón is a marketplace for one to one language lessons. Students pick a teacher, take a free trial, buy lessons as credits, and learn on video with materials and homework in their own portal.
It is small on purpose. Every teacher is read, watched and approved before a lesson is sold, and every profile carries a video so you can hear the person before you book.
How the money works
Every teacher sets their own rate. Rincón does not publish a house price, does not run sales on your behalf and does not discount your lessons to win a booking. What you charge is what a student pays.
Rincón takes a flat commission on top of that, agreed in writing before a profile goes live and visible in the teacher's own console at all times. The founding teacher pays none. Payouts run every two weeks into the teacher's own Stripe account.
Students pay in dollars, euros or pounds. Each price is written for its currency rather than converted at the till, so the number on the package is the number on the card statement.
The name
Rincón is the founding teacher's surname. It also means corner in Spanish, which is roughly what an hour of one to one class is. A corner of the week where one language gets your whole attention.
Where it is built
In Bogotá. The teaching, the platform and the support all sit in the same timezone, which is why an email tends to get an answer the same day rather than the same week.
